John Guzolek is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Connexis. Mr. Guzolek has over 25 years of leadership experience in the engineering and management of high-end information systems and communications networks in multiple technology-intensive industries. Prior to joining Connexis, Mr. Guzolek spent 15 years in senior engineering and operations roles at Navteq Corporation, including leading the development of the distributed processing architecture through which Navteq builds, maintains, and enhances its digital map database. In the early years at Navteq, Mr. Guzolek helped engineer the first in-vehicle navigation systems with published pioneering work in developing optimal graph search and vehicle routing algorithms that led to several later patents for the company. He also held high-level network architecture/engineering positions for Qualcomm, Rich-Reuters, Inc., Tektronix, Inc., and National Systems Corp. Mr. Guzolek holds a BSEE and an MSEE degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and is the coauthor of several articles on information systems and computer-aided design.
